Nasdaq Partners with Boerse Stuttgart’s Seturion for European Tokenized Securities Settlement
Nasdaq is linking its European markets to Boerse Stuttgart's blockchain-based Seturion platform, marking a strategic push into tokenized securities settlement. The first phase will focus on structured products and tokenized settlement flows, aiming to reduce cross-border friction in Europe's fragmented post-trade landscape.
Launched in September 2025, Seturion's distributed ledger technology promises to cut settlement times from days to minutes while lowering costs. The partnership addresses what Roland Chai of Nasdaq calls 'structural barriers' in European capital markets, where disparate national systems create operational complexity.
The move signals growing institutional adoption of blockchain infrastructure for traditional finance. By connecting trading venues to Seturion's network, Nasdaq positions itself at the forefront of securities tokenization - a market projected to reach $5 trillion globally by 2030.
